Bread and Butter occupies the back of the Whitemarsh location of Auspicious Baking Co., the bakery Pennsylvania natives Katie and Mark built out of a Sundays-only concept they launched through a GoFundMe in 2017. Growing demand pushed the operation into two retail bakery locations before the couple added Bread and Butter, a full-service restaurant that carries their baking into brunch and dinner, paired with a creative bar menu.
Katie and Mark still work the floor alongside their staff, and the room leans on the personalities of that team as much as on the food coming out of the kitchen. Bread and Butter has built a reputation as a standout brunch destination in Savannah, and it has been listed among the city's best new restaurants.
