The Coast Guard House occupies a solid granite building constructed in the late 1800s for the United States Life Saving Service, the precursor to today's Coast Guard, on a bluff above Narragansett Bay. The station was designed by the architecture firm McKim, Mead & White, and the structure now houses a seafood restaurant that keeps its ocean-facing setting front and center.
Rhode Island Monthly has included The Coast Guard House among its city magazine best-of picks, recognition that speaks to its standing in the Narragansett dining scene.
