The Spot
Oma's Hideaway takes its name and spirit from chef Thomas Pisha-Duffly's grandmother, Kiong Tien "Tina" Vandenberg, whose resourcefulness and warmth shaped the restaurant's guiding idea. The menu draws on her life story, pulling from the hawker food of Singapore and Malaysia and pushing those flavors louder in Chef Tom's own style.

The restaurant started as a pandemic-era pop-up in the Gado Gado parking lot before becoming a permanent space in 2021. It now runs two ways to eat from the same kitchen: a dinner menu and a separate, more involved format called Oma's Table, both accompanied by a seasonal list of hand-crafted cocktails and zero-proof drinks.

Regulars often point to the room's distinctive, maximalist decor alongside the food itself, along with attentive service and the house-made drinks program, as central to the experience. Chef Pisha-Duffly was named a James Beard Foundation Best Chef finalist in 2022.
