Imoto takes its name from the Japanese word for "little sister," a nod to Buccan next door, the restaurant that inspired it. Chef Clay Conley expanded that small-plates, big-flavor approach into Japanese and Asian cooking, giving Palm Beach a companion room built on its own menu rather than a repeat of Buccan's.
The menu runs through fresh sushi and sashimi, dumplings, tempura, and wood-fired selections, with ingredients drawn from both local sources and further afield. The sashimi and fish in particular have built a following among regulars.
Imoto sits alongside Buccan and Conley's other Palm Beach restaurants, sharing an address and a point of view while running as its own distinct room.
