Bolé Ethiopian Cuisine takes its name from Bole, the Addis Ababa neighborhood where co-owners Solomon Haile and Rekik Abaineh were born and raised. The Como Park location sits near the state fairgrounds and operates alongside a quick-service outpost, Bolé Express, and a Maple Grove location.
The menu covers familiar ground for the cuisine: Siga Wat and Derek Tibs for those after berbere-spiced heat, a Super Veggie Sampler and lentil-and-collard vegetarian plates for those who aren't, plus kitfo, fish tibs, and crispy sambusa. Injera comes with everything, and meals are often finished with a traditional Ethiopian coffee service or spiced tea.
Regulars describe the dining room as comfortable and attractive, and long-term customers have made it a go-to for Ethiopian food in the Twin Cities, with many pointing to the service as being as strong as the cooking.
