The Spot
The Fat Lamb occupies an industrial-chic space in Louisville's Cherokee Triangle, where chef and owner Dallas McGarity, a South Carolina native, builds a small-plates menu around local Kentucky ingredients filtered through Mediterranean and global influences. The kitchen sits in view of the dining room, and regulars have taken to watching the chefs plate dishes as they come together.

Lamb runs through the menu in more than one form — lamb ribs and lamb ragu both draw attention — alongside whipped feta, braised short ribs, fried artichoke hearts, a Greek salad, and a double smash burger. A craft cocktail and wine program runs alongside the food, built to match the kitchen's pace.

McGarity won Food Network's Chopped in its Season 37 chicken-themed episode, a win that brought national attention to the restaurant. The James Beard Foundation later named him a semifinalist for Best Chef: Southeast in 2024.
