The Spot
SheWolf Pastificio & Bar traces back to chef Anthony Lombardo hosting friends and neighbors for small dinners in his own apartment, centered on the complexity of modern Roman cuisine. That project grew into a full restaurant in Midtown Detroit in 2017, with the same idea at its core: contemporary Italian food inspired by old Rome, built around fresh vegetables and pasta made from hand-milled flour rather than red-sauce tradition.

Carbonara and a ribeye show up often in what regulars order, alongside a wine list with a distinctly Italian point of view. Craft cocktails and plating that reviewers regularly call out for its design round out the room.

Lombardo has been named a James Beard Foundation semifinalist for Best Chef in both 2019 and 2022.
