Little Star Diner is a family-owned restaurant established in 2017 by husband-and-wife team Charley Graham and Lauren Reich, who pair his cooking with her farming on a shared menu that changes with the seasons. Produce comes first from Little Star Farm, a one-acre operation next to the Gallatin River using heated and unheated tunnels to stretch Montana's short growing season, supplemented by other area organic growers. Meat is pasture-raised from small family ranches around Gallatin Valley, and bread and other baked goods are made in house daily with organic Montana flour and grains.
The result is diner food rebuilt around what's actually in season — simple preparations meant to let the ingredients lead. The restaurant also runs a CSA program alongside the dining room, extending that farm connection beyond the table.
Regulars point to service that's attentive and a kitchen that handles dietary accommodations as standard practice. Chef Charley Graham was named a James Beard Foundation semifinalist for Best Chef Mountain in 2024.
