The Rougaroux brings Creole and Cajun cooking to Birmingham, operating out of a historic 1800s-era Pink House in Forest Park with both indoor and covered outdoor seating, plus a second location in Mountain Brook Village. The kitchen turns out gumbo, housemade boudin, and po'boys, and has built a following around its vibrant atmosphere and friendly staff.
The restaurant is co-owned by Ed Stacey, a restaurateur with a background in concept development, restaurant operations, and seafood and specialty meat distribution, and Ryan Champion, a chef who has cooked around the country, including time locally at Bottega Restaurant and years at Commander's Palace in New Orleans.
The Rougaroux was named to Bham Now's 2026 best-of city magazine list.
