Supernormal
About
Supernormal blends influences from multiple Asian cuisines, presenting dishes through a contemporary restaurant format. The menu favors balance and accessibility. The menu includes small and medium plates designed for sharing, with flavors rooted in familiar profiles. Offerings may evolve gradually. The dining room supports communal dining with full table service. Pacing encourages flexible ordering. Supernormal suits group dining centered on shared plates and modern Asian-inspired cooking.
Chef Robbie Wilson earned a James Beard Award semifinalist nomination for Best Chef: California before he and his wife Emily Perry Wilson returned to Nashville and launched their restaurant group, 74 and Sunny Hospitality. Supernormal was the entry point: a fast-casual walk-up concept in Sylvan Park that applies serious culinary thinking to burgers and hot dogs without charging fine-dining prices for the privilege.
The Supernormal Burger is topped with melted American cheese, smoky pickled shiitake mushrooms, and house-made SuperNormal Sauce on a toasted bun — restrained in format, precise in execution. The hot dog loads a Sabrett's beef frank with bacon marmalade, chile-spiked cabbage, yuzu cream cheese, and green onion. Gluten-free and vegetarian options are available for both, which is unusual thoughtfulness for a walk-up burger window.
The signature dessert is a frozen original buttercream soft serve in a mochi-style waffle cone. Drinks include an exclusive house brew called Tokyo Nights and daily-made options like fresh pink lemonade and oolong iced tea. The operation is walk-up window and patio only — no indoor dining room.
Supernormal is open seven days a week, 11 AM to 9 PM on weekdays and until 10 PM on weekends, at 105 45th Ave N in Sylvan Park. The Wilsons' culinary background shows in the details without making the place feel like anything other than what it is: a genuinely good neighborhood fast-casual spot.
