About
Sirocco took over the former Thai Esane space at Five Points and brought a Mediterranean concept that straddles restaurant and nightlife more successfully than most operations attempting that combination. The menu pulls from across the Mediterranean — hummus trio, lamb sausage, grilled halloumi, octopus, za'atar glazed salmon — and the kitchen is cooking with genuine intention rather than using the food as a prop for the bar program.

The octopus is the move. Early reviewers called it among the best they'd had. The cocktails are theatrical and well-made. The room shifts from elegant dinner setting to club energy as the night progresses, which is either appealing or not depending entirely on what you want from a Tuesday.

Owner Anter Yafai's family runs 51st Deli, so the hospitality instincts are real. This is a first restaurant that shows more cooking ambition than the nightlife positioning gives it credit for.

The octopus and the za'atar glazed salmon are the standouts. The cocktail program is theatrical and solid. This is a real restaurant that also happens to turn into a club on weekends.

Sirocco is a Mediterranean restaurant and cocktail lounge at 970 Woodland Street in Five Points, East Nashville. The menu covers hummus, lamb chops, halloumi, flatbreads, and composed mains. Patio and rooftop seating, weekend brunch, live DJs Friday and Saturday nights.
