Nashville has a reputation problem — not that the food is bad, but that a lot of bad food benefits from a city that moves too fast to hold anything accountable. Tourists keep the lines moving. Press from five years ago still drives traffic. Some of these places were genuinely good once. Most weren't. Hattie B's is riding a hot chicken wave it helped start but no longer leads. Biscuit Love is a brunch line built on Instagram. The Loveless Café is a souvenir, not a restaurant. Virago is still treating people like it's the only upscale option in town, which hasn't been true for a decade. The list is long because Nashville makes it easy to fill seats without earning them. Don't be the person filling those seats.
